DALLAS – Another exceptional performance by Luka Doncic and a solid defensive performance by national team player Maxi Kleber led the Dallas Mavericks to a two-game winning streak for the first time this NBA season.
The Mavs won 103-100 against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night. Kleber defended the Jazz’s last shutout and Doncic scored 33 points. Now the 23-year-old Slovenian has at least 30 points in each of the first seven games of the season, a feat accomplished by only two other players in NBA history. The last of them was the great Wilt Chamberlain in the 1962/1963 season.
The Milwaukee Bucks are still the best team in the NBA. The 116-109 victory over the Detroit Pistons was their seventh win in seven games, and no team in the major league basketball world is still undefeated. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 32 points.
Two days after their first win of the season, the Los Angeles Lakers blew a 16-point lead in a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, but rallied with three points in overtime to still win 120-117. The best pitcher of the game was not one of the stars, but Lonnie Walker IV with 28 points.
